Attachments are made from high-strength dental composite resin—the exact same biocompatible, tooth-colored material used for aesthetic dental fillings.

Dr. Bhagyalakshmi custom-matches the resin to the precise shade of your natural enamel. While they create slight texture on the surface of your teeth, they remain subtle and discreet from normal conversation distance.

Teeth have smooth, curved surfaces. Without an anchor point, a smooth plastic aligner can slide or slip off when attempting complex dental mechanics, such as:

• Extrusion: Pulling an under-erupted tooth downward into the dental arch.
• Severe Rotation: Twisting rounded teeth (like canines and premolars) into alignment.
• Root Uprighting: Moving the tooth root through the jawbone rather than simply tilting the crown.

Attachments create a 3D active surface for the aligner tray to click into and push against, directing calibrated forces in the exact planned vector.

No drilling or enamel removal is required to place attachments. The tooth surface is gently conditioned with an adhesive primer, and the composite is cured with an LED light.
