 ARE INVISALIGN PAINFUL?

Know whether Invisalign are painful.

One of the most common doubts, we have about Invisalign treatment is whether they hurt or not.

Patients may feel slight discomfort With Invisalign aligners but it is always less when compared to braces.

The discomfort from Invisalign may be caused by one of the following:

1. Soreness often results from pressure placed on the teeth

The discomfort occurs due to the pressure exerted by the aligners against the teeth.

When moving teeth and straightening the bite, there will be minor pain.

This soreness will mildly increase during the first few days after wearing a fresh set of aligners, but it will fade away until it is time to wear In the next set of aligners.

2. Irritation in gum tissue due to aligner trays

The edges of the Invisalign aligners which are not mostly sharp can be slightly irritating to the gums and the insides of your lip until your mouth gets used to the new aligners. This is now less prominent in Invisalign users with newer aligner designs.
